Throughout this course you've created awesome content, and now it's time to move it to your course! There are multiple ways to move your content, depending on how much you're moving.

Copying Content from a Sandbox or a Previous Canvas Course

The Course Import tool allows you to select and copy from a previous or another existing Canvas course in your system. This is the best option if you're copying an entire course or multiple modules.

ITC Recommendations

We recommend importing ALL CONTENT at once so that assignment groups (categories) are maintained and assignments are placed in the correct category. You can import modules later on, too! Canvas will create a new assignment group called "Imported Assignments" and you can easily drag them to the correct category.

We recommend NOT adjusting assignment due dates as part of the import. When you're ready to use an assignment, edit it and add the due date. Don't forget to publish it!

Using the "Copy To" Tool

The Copy To tool sends a page, assignment, discussion, or quiz to another course and you can place these items directly into a module using the copy to tool. However, all copied assignments will be grouped as "Imported Assignments" and you'll need to move them around if you weight categories.
